-Gold Vermeil: 925 sterling silver with a layer of real gold over it. Gold vermeil is water resistant but not waterproof. It is also great for sensitive skin. Gold vermeil is superior to plated jewelry.

What is Gold filled jewelry?

It’s actually multiple layers of solid 14k gold pressure bonded with extreme heat over a core of high quality jeweler’s brass. It results in a durable, high quality material that is hypoallergenic, waterproof and tarnish proof. 

What is the difference between gold filled and gold plating?

• Gold filled is hypoallergenic, durable, long lasting and is has a much higher gold content than gold plating.
• Gold filled jewelry has at least 5% of real gold whereas plating has no regulation of how much gold is required. 
• The process of gold filled jewelry is strictly regulated with standards that must be met, whereas with plated jewelry, you can’t know how thick the plating layer is or what quality level you’re getting.

 

Can my jewelry get wet?

-Our gold filled and solid gold pieces can get wet. Water won’t cause tarnish and none of the metals we use rust. You need to make sure your pieces are well-dried after getting wet. If you go in a pool or ocean make sure to rinse with fresh water after.

 

How do I care for my gold filled jewelry? 

 

-Store in an airtight container such as a ziplock bag when you aren't wearing the pieces.

-Do not store in the bathroom or where there is excess moisture.

-Keep your pieces away from perfumes, makeup, sunscreen and any other harsh chemicals.

-Buff with a soft cloth to clean or use dish soap and an old toothbrush to clean every month or so or if exposed to harsh products or chemicals.  

- All jewelry comes with a care card.
